Rumford Dumplings (1918)

1 1/2 C. flour
1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 t. Rumford baking powder
2/3 C. milk (approximately)

Sift the flour, salt and baking powder together twice; add the milk and mix thoroughly but quickly, and drop by small tablespoonfuls into hot gravy, broth, or stew. Cover and cook for 30 minutes.
