Oatmeal “Drop Cookies”

3/4 C. shortening
1 C. brown sugar, packed
1 egg, beaten
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
1 1/4 C. flour, sifted
1 t. vanilla
1/2 C. nuts
2 1/2 C. oatmeal
1/2 C. raisins (optional)

Combine all ingredients. Drop from teaspoon onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees.
